A liquid crystal display with a charge sharing function and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumed by a data driver and the liquid crystal display, below a limit level by selectively skipping a charge sharing operation according to whether the pixel data voltage to be supplied to pixels of the following line is the same as the previous pixel data voltage supplied to the previous pixel. A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel(102) having pixels connected to a corresponding gate line(GL1~GLn) and a corresponding data line(DL1~DLm); a data driver(106) for driving the data lines of the liquid crystal panel to charge a pair of the pixels adjacent to each other along the data line with pixel data voltage(VD) of polarity opposite to the other pairs of the adjacent pixels; and a charge sharing unit(106A) for making the data lines selectively share charge with each other between periods in which the pixel data voltage is supplied to the pixel pair.
