PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF VOGLIBOSE

Provided is a method for preparing voglibose, and thus high-purity voglibose is obtained in high yield through a process simpler than a conventional process. The method for preparing voglibose comprises the steps of: (1) preparing perbenzyl voglibose through a reductive amination reaction using an inosose derivative as a starting material; (2) adding an acid to the perbenzyl voglibose to prepare an acid-added salt of perbenzyl voglibose; (3) de-protecting a benzyl group from the acid-added salt of perbenzyl voglibose to prepare an acid-added salt of voglibose; and (4) reacting the acid-added salt of voglibose with a strong base to liberate voglibose represented by the following formula 1.
