PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous material which suppresses the production of a byproduct in the anode oxidation of alcohol, a porous material producing method, an electrolytic membrane electrode assembly produced using the porous material, a fuel cell having the electrolytic membrane electrode assembly, and an electronic apparatus at least having a fuel cell.

SOLUTION: The porous material has an anode catalyst-made porous body 3 on an electrolytic membrane 2. The porous material has an anode catalyst carried on a porous body having an electron conductivity.
