PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can certainly prevent air and impurities from invading into an ink holder while making the operation of charging the ink easier. SOLUTION: The cartridge is equipped with a cartridge housing 4b with the ink holder. The cartridge housing 4b is provided with the first opening 7a and the second opening 7b which are opened to the outside, and the openings communicate with the ink holder through communication passages 5a and 5b, respectively. The first bung member 6a and the second bung member 6b are fitted to two openings of 7a and 7b, respectively. The bung members 6a and 6b can be passed by hollow needles, and the members have an elasticity enabling sealing by itself after pulling out the needles. A part of the second bung member 6b is provided with a protrusion 6z which is a valve part capable of sealing the communication passage 5b. The bung member 6b is fitted to the second opening 7b so that the member 6b may be moved to the positions for opening and sealing the communication passage, respectively by the protrusion 6z.
