PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ADSL signal checker capable of transmitting a pseudo-signal to start the modem of a telephone station, even when a subscriber terminal is not working, transmitting an ADSL signal from the telephone station, detecting the ADSL signal from the telephone station, and discriminating the kind of the signal and to display it. SOLUTION: When the subscriber terminal is not functioned, the ADSL signal checker 1 outputs the pseudo-signal from a microcomputer 2. When transmission is performed to a telephone line, the modem of the telephone station is started. Accordingly, the microcomputer 2 detects the ADSL signal transmitted from the telephone station via the telephone line, discriminates the type, and then allows the type of the discriminated ADSL signal to be displayed in a display apparatus.
