PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a food storing container made of a vegetable fiber material which has a practical strength and can be manufactured industrially at a low cost. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises a step for forming a cardboard-like product of a predetermined size of a pulp and one or two or more kinds of the vegetable fiber materials other than the pulp, a step for coating a thermoplastic resin having the heat sealing function, a step for forming cut parts to form side face pieces on four corners of the cardboard-like product, and a step for forming a food storing container by heat-pressing the obtained cardboard-like product by a pair of projecting and recessed press dies. The one pair of side face pieces facing each other are raised earlier than the other pair of side face pieces facing each other to form a container with the four corners affixed to each other by the heat-pressing.
