A backlight unit for an LCD is provided to prevent heat from being concentrated on one side of an LCD panel due to high current applied to high voltage input terminals of fluorescent lamps, by alternately arranging high voltage input terminals and low voltage input terminals of respective fluorescent lamps. A support main is disposed above a cover bottom. A plurality of fluorescent lamps(126a,126b,126c) are arranged at both sides of the support main. A lamp housing guides the plurality of fluorescent lamps. A reflective plate is disposed on the cover bottom, and a backlight unit is disposed on the reflective plate. An LCD panel is disposed on the backlight unit. A top cover is coupled with the support main and the cover bottom. High voltage input terminals(H) and low voltage input terminals(G) of respective fluorescent lamps are alternately arranged. |
