A method and a system for treating industrial wastewater, which are capable of completely removing fine suspended solids and COD(chemical oxygen demand) increasing materials contained in the treated water by retreating treated water purified and discharged through a magnetic separation process using an electrolysis process after sufficiently electro-coagulating industrial wastewater in an electro-coagulation process, are provided. A system for treating industrial wastewater comprises a pH adjusting part(1) adjusting a pH of industrial wastewater flown in using a pH adjusting agent(12); an electro-coagulation part(3) for electro-coagulating contaminants contained in the pH adjusted wastewater to form a floc; a floc magnetization part(4-1) for forming a magnetic floc from a mixed slurry contained in the floc formed in the electro-coagulation part using a magnetic fine powder(13) supplied from a magnetic fine powder supply part(2-2); and a magnetic floc separation part(8) for separating and discharging treated water while collecting the magnetic floc from the floc magnetization part and collecting a magnetic floc from electro-coagulated water(14) of the electro-coagulation part, wherein the system further comprises: an electrical conductivity adjusting part(9) for mixing an electrical conductivity adjusting agent(11) with wastewater discharged from the pH adjusting part to discharge the mixture into the electro-coagulation part; and an electrolysis part(10) for electrolyzing treated water discharged from the magnetic floc separation part.
