#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves connecting a propulsion unit to a template (60) positioned with respect to an output shaft (32) of an engine/motorization (30) of the unit. A sternpost (42) is mounted on a propulsion shaft (34) and is connected to the template for maintaining the propulsion shaft aligned with the output shaft. The unit and the template are placed in a boat hull so as to make the sternpost co-operate with an opening arranged in a part of the hull, and the engine/motorization is fixed to the part.
