<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device improved in steering feeling by improving responsiveness by driving a motor in a region with efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This power steering device is provided with a hydraulic power cylinder, a first passage connected to a first hydraulic chamber, a second passage connected to a second hydraulic chamber, a reversible pump provided with a pair of discharging ports connected to the first passage and second passage to supply hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic power cylinder, a motor connected to the reversible pump to normally/reversely rotate the pump, a steering load detection means for detecting or estimating steering load of a steering wheel for steering and controlling a steering wheel, and a motor control means for outputting a driving signal to the motor to generate desired hydraulic pressure in the motor based on the steering load.
