<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for the white balance adjustment/black balance adjustment of an endoscope. <P>SOLUTION: An endoscope processor 20 has a white balane adjustment circuit 31 and a black balane adjustment circuit 32. An original image signal generated with an image sensor 41 is inputted into the white balance adjustment circuit 31. The white balance adjustment circuit 31 adjusts the white balance of the original image signal. The white balane adjustment circuit 31 sends R and B gains for the white balance adjustment to the black balance adjustment circuit 32 together with the first adjustment image signal. Based on the R and B gains sent, the black balance adjustment circuit 32 judges whether the black balance of the first adjustment image signal should be conducted or not.
