PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polarizing film securing uniform optical performance even in a large area and appropriate for use in a large-sized liquid crystal display screen or the like. SOLUTION: A film roll 13 is formed by winding a polyvinyl-alcohol-based polymer film with a film width of 2 m or wider and a length of 1,500 m or longer around a cylindrical core 12. Protrusions 6 of the core protruding by a predetermined length from both end surfaces of the film roll 13 are mounted on a frame on a supporting table 10 including a support having a base and the horizontal frame above it and coupling a pair of supports via a coupling plate, thereby supporting the film roll 13 by the core 12 to keep the roll 13 suspended.
