PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic bearing main shaft having high reliability and capable of replacing tools automatically in a short time. SOLUTION: This magnetic bearing device is provided with a mode determining part 12 and a variable weight part replacing mode processing part 14 composed of a bias command generating part 10, power amplifiers 8, 9, and a variable weight part replacing position detection part 11. When replacing a variable weight part 40 (for example, a tool), bias currents are applied to specific radial magnetic bearing electromagnets 22, 24 and a rotary body 31 is fixed to a decided position to enable positioning when replacing tools and enable the replacement of automatic tools in a short time with high reliability.
