PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operation efficiency by simplifying an operation process during positioning. SOLUTION: The positioning guiding device of a sewing machine has a pair of side guides horizontally moving on a sewing machine bed between an abutting position abutting on both side faces of an engaging member and an engaged member and an evacuating position. The side guides have a stopper abutting on the distal end face of the engaging member or the engaged member sandwiched by the pair of side guides and a first preventing portion obliquely and upwardly extending directed to a base side in an inserting direction in the lateral side of the stopper for preventing the engaging member or the engaged member from being raised such that their position can be adjusted in the inserting direction when the engaging member or the engaged member is put into and mounted between the pair of side guides present in the abutting position along the sewing machine head. Further, the pawl portion extending obliquely and downward to the base side in the inserting direction is provided at the forward end of a first preventing portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
