A silent hook-and-loop fastener, comprising a base part (2), a large number of engagement elements (3a) and (3b) erected from the base part, and a vibration damping material layer (10) disposed on the rear surface of the base part. According to one suitable embodiment, the vibration damping material layer is disposed on the rear surface of the base part through a connection layer. The vibration damping material layer desirably has a loss tangent (tan delta) at -40 to 40°C of 0.05 to 2.5 and a thickness of 0.3 to 10 mm. According to the other suitable embodiment, the base part is formed of a woven or knitted foundation cloth, the large number of engagement elements are formed of filaments, and the size of the filaments is 100 to 500T (dcTex). |
