Assembly procedure for pivot pin and stop plate uses clinching process with die to fix end of pivot pin in stop plate aperture with two opposite straight edges

The procedure, using a stop plate (5) that has an aperture (5a) with two opposite straight edges (5a1, 5a2), consists of inserting the matching end of the pivot pin through the aperture, which has been galvanised to prevent corrosion, and clinching the pin end with a die to anchor the two components together, preventing any possible rotation and eliminating clearances. The assembled plate and pivot pin can then be fitted to an articulated joint e.g. of a hydraulic arm.
