A method of providing EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information in a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to generate and display text signals of broadcasting programs. A method of providing EPG information in a digital broadcasting receiver includes a step of searching EPG information about a plurality of broadcasting programs that will be broadcasted after the current broadcasting program and reading the EPG information when the ending time of the current broadcasting program is almost close, and a step of converting the read EPG information into a text signal and displaying a text corresponding to the text signal on the current broadcasting program. When a new broadcasting program is received, the method includes a step of searching and reading EPG information about the new broadcasting program, and a step of converting the read EPG information into a text signal and displaying a text corresponding to the text signal on the current broadcasting program.
