PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric step device for a vehicle capable of preventing a supporting arm from being damaged by abutting to an obstacle on the ground surface. SOLUTION: The electric step device is equipped with a base means 9 fixed to a vehicle body, a supporting means 6 supported by the base means 9 rotatably in the horizontal direction, and a step 5 supported by the supporting means 6 and installed below a doorway in the vehicle body, in which the supporting means 6 is rotated by a driving means 8 so as to move the step 5 to outside and inside the vehicle.
