<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material capable of providing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent initial capacity and capacity retention, and the nonaqueous electrolyte battery equipped with a positive electrode plate manufactured by using the positive electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: This positive electrode active material is made up of specific lithium composite oxide particles, the average particle diameter of the lithium composite oxide particle is within a range of 0.1-50 μm, the particle size distribution of the lithium composite oxide particles has two or more peaks, the ratio of the particle diameter at the peak where the particle diameter is larger to the particle diameter at the peak where the particle diameter is smaller is 1.4 or more, the blending rate of the lithium composite oxide particles having larger particle diameters is 70-80 mass%, and the blending rate of the lithium composite oxide particles having smaller particle diameters is 20-30 mass%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
