<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide process cartridges that properly reduce power consumption, an image forming apparatus and a power control device. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus 1 forms images by using the process cartridges 40M to 40K, and shifts between a plurality of electric modes of different amounts of power consumption at set transition time. The cartridge memories 44M to 44K of the process cartridges 40M to 40K store power control data including at least each power mode, an amount of power consumption per unit time in each power mode, the number of times that the apparatus 1 shifts to each of the power modes, time for which each power mode is retained, average power consumption calculated from the amount of power consumption in each power mode and the set transition time between the power modes. The power control data is written in or read from the cartridge memories 44M to 44K, and the shift to each power mode is controlled based upon the power control data, thereby reducing power consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
