SOLUTION: The glass panel for cathode-ray tube has a face part 2 of nearly rectangular shape and a skirt part 5 connected nearly perpendicularly to the peripheral edge of the face part 2. An identification mark 8 showing the product type constitution information of the panel 1 is formed on the outer surface of the skirt part 5, and the average specular reflectance R1 in a visible light region of the identification mark 8 and the average specular reflectance R2 in the visible light region of the surrounding part 9 of the identification mark 8 is set to satisfy a relation of R1/R2≤0.3, and the ten-point average roughness Rz of the identification mark 8 is set as 1μm≤Rz≤20μm.
