THE LONG-REACH WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING PASSIVE OPTICAL NETWORKS

A long-distance transmission WDM PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network) is provided to increase a transmission distance to each ONT(Optical Network Termination) from a Co(Central Office) without using an optical amplifier and a chromatic dispersion compensating device, thereby obtaining an economical and stable QoS(Quality of Service). Optical transmitters/receivers(110,310) are located in a CO(100) and each ONT(300). Wavelength division multiplexers/demultiplexers(120,210) are located in the CO(100) and an RN(Remote Node)(200). A broadband non-interference light source is connected to the multiplexers/demultiplexers(120,210) by a long-distance single mode optical fiber, and is spectrally divided so as to be injected into light sources located in the CO(100) and each ONT(300).
