<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate, of which the visual field angle is wide and luminance unevenness and curling characteristic are improved, and to provide a liquid crystal display that uses the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: Optical films are arranged respectively at both surfaces of a polarizer, and the polarizing plate has an optical film A at a side far from a liquid crystal cell and an optical film B at a side near the liquid crystal cell. If particulate-A is defined as inorganic nanoparticles contained in the optical film A and particulate-B is defined as inorganic nanoparticles contained in the optical film B, the aspect ratio of primary particles in the particulate-A is l or larger and <2 and the particulate-A is contained by amount of ≥0.01 mass% and <0.5 mass% toward mass of a thermoplastic resin constituting the optical film A and aspect ratio of primary particles in the particulate-B is ≥2 and ≤100 and the particulate-B is contained in the amounts of ≥0.5 mass% and ≤30 mass% with respect to the mass of the thermoplastic resin constituting the optical film B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
