PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image and audio output device that enables a user to view sub-contents with no sense of incompatibility without being disturbed by the audio of main contents when the sub-contents are outputted. SOLUTION: When the sub-contents are displayed, it is decided whether the sub-contents are (S2) interlocking contents, or non-interlocking contents and when non-interlocking contents are decided, an audio control mode is entered. In sound volume control mode, the output sound volume of a speaker is set to previously stored sound volume and in audio content control mode, desired audio contents are made outputted from the speaker. In either mode, the observer is able to view the sub-contents with no sense of incompatibility without being disturbed by the audio of the main contents. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
