PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste volume-reducing connecting device for reducing in volume general combustibles most bulky in volume at home by using cleaners commonly provided in any home and the method of using the same considering the fact that more and more local governments are going ahead on charging a fee for garbage collection to preserve the environment or reduce cost and also economically the need for reducing a volume of garbage at home has become urgent especially recently. SOLUTION: The basic requirements include a garbage-volume-reducing cleaner connecting device comprising, in basic specifications, with a columnar pipe 2 an inserting part 1 having a shape of a conical pipe with a tip-end opening to be inserted into and connected to the hose joint 4 of a cleaner 7, the home-use electric suction type cleaner 7 and a volume-reducing bag 5 for accommodating the waste therein.
