PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL OPERATING EQUIPMENT AND THE METHOD OF THE SAME

A plasma display panel driving device and method are provided to restrict excessive voltage from being charged in a capacitor due to malfunction of a switch element and prevent a current leakage by stopping a driving circuit if the voltage applied to both ends of the capacitor gets out of a predetermined range. A plasma display panel driving device has a capacitor protecting unit(20) for stopping the operation of a driving circuit if the voltage applied to both ends of a capacitor(Cs) is out of a predetermined range. The capacitor protecting unit includes a judging unit(21) for judging whether the voltage of the capacitor gets out of the predetermined range or not, and a cut-off unit(22) for blocking a driving signal for driving a switching element connected with the capacitor according to the result of the judging unit.
