A plasma display device is provided to display a still image without applying a reset signal by activating priming particles in initialization and discharge cells of a plasma display panel by applying driving waveform comprising only the reset signal and an address signal, before the still image is displayed. A plasma display device has a driving unit for applying the driving waveform comprising a reset signal(R) and an address signal(A), to a scan electrode(Y) and a sustain electrode(Z) during one subfield. The driving unit applies a pre-reset signal(R_pre) of negative polarity to the scan electrode before the reset signal is applied. The driving unit applies the voltage of a predetermined level to the sustain electrode before the reset signal is applied.
