<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can respond to the deterioration of image quality due to contamination of a light emission window. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises at least one or more image forming stations in which an electrifying means, an exposure means using an optical scanning device, a development means, and a transfer means are arranged around a photosensitive body, and transfers a toner image formed in the image forming station to a transfer medium. Air streams 57 and 58 in the space where light emitted from the light emission window 6 of the light scanning device 20 to the photosensitive body 5 passes flow in the axial direction of the photosensitive body, and the optical scanning device 20 is arranged to ensure that a greater time-dependent change in luminous energy involved with the contamination of the light emission window 6 as shown by the characteristics of (c) comes on the downstream side 58 of the air streams.
