<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document image reader that makes a read with small variance in a gap distance between a contact image sensor and a document high precision by suppressing twisting, wrinkling and waving of the document by providing an attracting means to a readout rotary body arranged opposite the contact image sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader which has an image read section 5 reading an image of a document includes a sticking matter removing means 11 of removing sticking matters on a document read surface to a read-directional side in a document conveyance path, a readout rotary body 1 which is arranged opposite a document readout position across the document conveyance path, has a reference white readout surface as its outer peripheral surface, and is driven to rotate in a document conveyance direction, a document attracting/conveying means 7 of attracting and conveying the document to keep the distance between the image readout section 5 and document nearby the readout rotary body 1, a dust removing means 6 of removing dust sticking on the surface of the readout rotary body 1, and an operation switching means 12 of switching the document attraction and sticking removal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
