<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandises investigation agent and sales system, in which a consumer requests merchandise investigation to an agent, the agent checks and records merchandise information from a consumer's standpoint, and then provides more detailed merchandise information to the consumer to avoid risks that consumers are so busy that they purchase merchandises without check for actual ones. <P>SOLUTION: Consumers view images of merchandises published on catalogs or the Internet. If a consumer selects or decides a merchandise to purchase after viewing it, the investigation agent and sales system transmits a request related to the items that the consumer wants to know about the merchandise to an agent through a communication means protected with security functions. The agent investigates merchandise information according to the consumer request, and then records it into a recording medium to provide the investigated and recorded information to the consumer through the communication means.
