<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive wave generation circuit that generates the drive wave of a piezo-actuator that is driven using the drive wave obtained by combining two kinds of fundamental waves. <P>SOLUTION: Two fundamental waves from a fundamental waveform generation circuit 10 is changed over by a direction selector 22 and outputted via an output gate 20. The changeover of the direction selector 22 is controlled by a direction control signal M/I. The 200 periods of the fundamental waveform is counted by a 200-period counter 12, and a drive counter 14 is counted down every 200 periods. The drive counter 14 is counted up according to the number of pulses of drive pulses DRIVE.
