<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a rotary electric machine which generates a dead time signal by which both of an upper and a lower arms, PMOS, NMOS become an OFF operation at complementary drive of both arms, and a short circuit is securely prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The control device includes an upper arm switching element 6 between a plurality of winding terminals of the rotary electric machine 2 and a high potential of a battery 3, a plurality of lower arm switching elements 7 connected between a plurality of the winding terminals and a low potential of the battery 3, and a control portion 13 which turns on/off the upper and the lower switching elements 6, 7 respectively, and controls drive of the rotary electric machine 2, wherein a dead time generating circuit 3000 which creates an off state of the upper and the lower arm switching elements 6, 7 includes a first dead time generating portion 3010 and a second dead time generating portion 3020 which generate first and second dead time.
