PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression type recording device capable of managing easily many waveform data, using effectively a preservation domain in a storage medium, and extracting a part of waveform data easily from more waveform data. SOLUTION: A measuring object is measured by a sensor element 1, and a measured voltage signal is damped or amplified by an amplifier 2, subjected to digital conversion by an AD conversion circuit, sampled at a prescribed sampling period by a sampling control machine 4, and then given to DSP 5. A control signal on recording start/stop to a recording media 9 is given to the DSP 5 by an operation part 7, and the given voltage signal is subjected to compression processing by the DSP 5, and given to the recording media 9 as recoding data of a DOS type file together with a time given by a timepiece 8 or the like, and then preserved or recorded.
