摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron concentration measuring method by a direct method capable of acquiring a measured value equivalent to an international standard method, and a reagent and a kit used therefor. SOLUTION: This iron concentration measuring method of a sample has a characteristic wherein iron in the sample is brought into contact with an iron chelate color coupler under coexistence of a chelating agent whose chelate stabilization constant with divalent iron (Fe<SP>+2</SP>) is smaller than that between the divalent iron and the iron chelate color coupler, and measurement is performed, based on the degree of generated color development. The reagent and the kit for iron measurement used therefor are also provided. According to the invention, the problem hitherto unsolved wherein an acquired measured value is lower than that acquired by the international standard method can be solved, and iron concentration measurement by an automatic analyzer becomes possible without requiring a complicated operation such as protein removal, and since the measured value is similar to a measured value by a standard addition method in the international standard method, more accurate measurement becomes possible.
