PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly perform flicker correction even when intensity of a light source changes. SOLUTION: This flicker correction device has correction phase error detectors 40R, 40G, 40B which generate two kinds of flicker images to which flickers at different levels are added by predicting a flicker of an image signal of the next frame from a flicker-corrected image signal and an image signal before flicker correction, compare the two kinds of flicker images with the input image signal of the next frame to detect a correction phase error, correction amplitude error detectors 50R, 50G, 50B which compare the two kinds of predicted flicker images with the input image signal of the next frame to detect a correction amplitude error and flicker amplitude adjusters 60R, 60G, 60B which generate an amplitude signal for controlling amplitude of a flicker correction signal in the direction where the correction amplitude error becomes small and the flicker correction is performed by generating the flicker correction signal based on the correction phase error signal and the amplitude signal by adding the flicker correction signal to the input image signal.
