A method of checking connection of pipes of a multi pipe-multi type air conditioner is provided to inform the user of the connection condition of the indoor unit and the opened electric expansion valve by checking the connection condition of the pipes between the electric expansion valve and the indoors. A method of checking connection of pipes of a multi pipe-multi type air conditioner comprises a step(S140) of opening an electric expansion valve to supply the refrigerant to one of plural indoor units; a step(S160) of detecting the refrigerant temperature change of each indoor unit before and after the opening of the electric expansion valve; a step(S180) of judging the connection condition of the indoor unit corresponding to the opened electric expansion valve on the basis of the detected refrigerant temperature change; a step(S200) of matching the opened electric expansion valve and the indoor unit corresponding to the electric expansion valve according to the judged result; a step of warning the user of the lack of the indoor unit corresponding to the electric expansion valve; and a step of checking the connection condition of the pipes through the repetitious step.
