A method and a device for generating a folder in an image forming device equipped with a storing part, and a data storing method and device using the same are provided to enable a user to generate the folder in a storage medium, like an HDD(Hard Disk Drive), embedded in the image forming device and store data to the desired folder by using an operation unit of the image forming device. A user interface(420) confirms whether the data is stored to the storing part of the image forming device if an external storing part(400) is connected to the image forming device. A folder position fixing part(440) sets a position of the folder for storing the data by using the operation unit of the image forming device. A data processor(460) stores the data to the fixed folder if the folder is fixed. The data processor includes a folder searcher(462) searching whether the fixed folder is in an internal storing part(480), and a storage controller(464) storing the data to the folder if the fixed folder is present, and generating the new folder in the internal storing part and storing the data to the generated folder if the fixed folder is not present.
