An apparatus and a method for confirming a defectiveness of FPCB(Flexible Printed Circuit Board) are provided to shorten the time for confirming the defectiveness of FPCB by performing a process without disassembling a portable terminal. In an apparatus for confirming a defectiveness of FPCB(22), the flexible printed circuit board(22) includes a feedback signal line among predetermined signal lines. A control unit(24) applies a signal to a specific line of the FPCB(22) and confirms the defectiveness of the FPCB(22) by checking the feedback signal from the specific line to which the signal is applied initially. An LCD(21) is placed at a second case to display a message about confirming results of the control unit(24) for the defectiveness of the FPCB(22). And, a connection member connects a first case including a main board with the second case including the LCD(21).
