<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of drying a bathroom and supplying cold air. <P>SOLUTION: A heat pump unit 30 is installed on the wall surface side of the interior of a bathroom 80 while in an attitude such that an opening 72 formed in the front face of a casing 70 is pointed in the direction of the short side of a bathroom body 90 and in a vertical direction. The lower end of the opening 72 in the casing 70 along the direction of height is located in approximately the same position as the open face 91 of the bathroom body 90 and the horizontal center of the opening 72 is located in approximately the same position as one end of the bathroom body 90.
