PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica-compounded rubber composition whose abrasion resistance, rolling resistance and wet performances can be improved in combination by improving the dispersibility of silica and the processability of the resulting composition and exploiting advantages of a silica compounding. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains 20-120 pts.wt. of silica based on 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber component. The rubber composition comprises 0.5-10 pts.wt. of a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond at at least one end of the molecule and a functional group bonding to a silanol group of the silica within the molecule based on 100 pts.wt. of the rubber component, wherein the functional group is preferably a hydroxy group, an epoxy group or an amine.
