<p>A method for converting a network address during data relay between a public network and a private network is provided to enable a gateway of a home network not to perform operations for adding/deleting an IP(Internet Protocol) address header, when a user remotely conducts inquiry and/or control for an apparatus connected to the home network outside the home network, thus a system load is reduced. A public address header of a message(11) received from the first apparatus is removed so that the message(11) has an address header consisting of a private address of the second apparatus which is a lower device and a public address of the first apparatus, and the message(11) is transmitted to the second apparatus through a local network. A source private address of the message(11) received from the second apparatus is replaced with a public address of a gateway, in order that the public address is transmitted to the first apparatus through a public network, while socket information included in the message is mapped with the replaced source private address to register the mapped information. A destination public address of the message(11) received from the first apparatus is replaced with the private address registered by being mapped with the socket information of the message(11), so that the replaced address can be delivered to the local network.</p> |
