[Problems] In case letter information, a static image or a dynamic image is displayed according to an instructed schedule in an image display device mounted on a train or vehicle, a blank period visible to human eyes occurs when a compressed static image is displayed, as switched from the previous image. The blank period raises a problem that a viewer has an uncomfortable feeling due to lack of real-time senses and obscureness. [Means for Solving the Problems] In a video information distribution display system mounted on a train or vehicle, compressed static video information scheduled to be next displayed is expanded preparations by decompressing that information in advance in response to an image control signal (or display command) transmitted together with the video information and by storing the same in a displaying storage unit. The image to be displayed is seamlessly switched to a static image at the contents switching timing of the display command, and the static image is displayed.
