A host device and a printer for printing classified documents, and a printing method thereof are provided to keep security in document printing by allowing an authorized user to output the document with application of an authentication server, and promote user convenience by keeping authentication for outputting the document without any complex procedure. An application program(120) provides a function for making the document. A printer driver(140) converts the document into printing data. An interface(150) transfers the printing data to the printer(200). A controller(110) registers document information of the document to the authentication server(300) as the classified document by transferring the document information to the authentication server, and assigns a printing authority for the document by assigning a terminal(400). The printer includes a document authenticator(210) requesting the authentication server to check whether the document ordered from the terminal is the classified document registered to the authentication server, a user authenticator(220), and a printing engine(230).
