A method for setting the user's initial environment in a car audio device is provided to prevent theft of the car audio device and to simply set the optimal initial environment. When a user information registration mode is performed according to the user's request(S10), a control member controls the operation of the display member so that a guide message is outputted through a display member. When the user sets the initial environment of a desired car audio device(S11), the set information is temporarily stored. Thereafter, the control member outputs a guide message for requesting the input of the user confirmation information and controls the operation of a user detecting member. The control member confirms whether the user confirmation information is inputted(S12). If the user confirmation information is inputted, the control member stores and manages the inputted information as the corresponding user information.
