A silicone composition comprising a liquid crystal containing two para- phenylene groups and a compatibilizer, and a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) prepared by a method comprising curing the aforementioned silicone composition, wherein the PDLC is transparent and has a refractive index of from 1.42 to 1.6 at 25 °C for light having a wavelength of 589 nm.
