BACKUP PAD FOR SUPPORTING ABRASIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor for replacing abrasive by eliminating the need for aligning a hole position in fitting the abrasive having a dust sucking hole to a backup pad for supporting the abrasive. SOLUTION: This backup pad for supporting the abrasive includes: a base material having a second principal surface opposite to a first principal surface and having at least one dust sucking hole penetrating the first principal surface and the second principal surface; and a ventilating member joined to the first principal surface of the base material and having a plurality of holes extending from the fitting surface to which the abrasive is fitted toward the first principal surface of the base material. The ventilating member causes powder dust to flow out from the fitting surface to the second principal surface of the base material in cooperation with the base material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
