PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for producing a dwarfed plant and a plant having many scapes, which have subterranean parts similar to a wild type morphology and only above-ground parts changing morphology. SOLUTION: The method for producing a dwarfed plant and a plant having many scapes comprises reducing the amount of trans-zeatin-type cytokinin produced in a plant by controlling destruction or expression of a cytokinin hydroxylase gene existing in a plant.
