A mobile communication terminal having a function of preventing an incorrect LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) operation and a controlling method thereof are provided to retransmit image data to an LCD driver if it is decided that static electricity is generated, thereby preventing an LCD from being incorrectly operated. An LCD driver(20) displays image data stored in an internal memory(26) on an LCD panel(22). A static electricity sensor(10) detects an externally applied voltage to output a sensing signal in accordance with a voltage value. A controller(5) provides the image data to the internal memory(26) of the LCD driver(20), decides whether static electricity is generated through the sensing signal inputted from the sensor(10), and retransmits the image data provided to the LCD driver(20) if the static electricity is generated.
