VACUUM CLEANER

A vacuum cleaner is provided to increase filtering efficiency by doubly filtrating foreign matters in the air, to decrease flow loss by reducing the air moving range between a dust collecting unit and a motor assembly, and to improve performance of the vacuum cleaner by increasing filtering efficiency and suction force. A vacuum cleaner includes: a body having a dust collecting unit(400) for doubly filtering foreign matters and a motor assembly(310) generating rotational power by receiving power; an exhaust assembly installed in the body to discharge air through the motor assembly out of the body; a suction nozzle spaced from the body and moved in the proximity of a floor to guide air and foreign matters; an extension tube connected to the suction nozzle to adjust length; an operation handle formed at an end of the extension tube and easily gripped by a user; and a flexible connecting hose formed between the suction nozzle and the body to guide air and foreign matters from the suction nozzle. Air is discharged from the dust collecting unit to the motor assembly. The dust collecting unit has plural foreign matter separation chambers for removing foreign matters with cyclone method, and plural foreign matter storage chambers(416) formed in lower parts of the foreign matter separation chambers.
