The device has a seat (3) vertically movable with respect to a column (2), and a rod (6) comprising an unlocking unit (7). The seat is connected to the rod that is connected to a hatch (1) so as to transmit the movement of the seat to the rod which in turn transmits the movement to the hatch. The hatch closes an opening (4) arranged above the seat. The descent and the ascent of the seat cause the closing and the opening of the hatch, respectively, when the unit (7) is in an inactive state. The unit (7) is activated to break the transmission of the movement.
